Hosting big events is nothing new to Monique Hunter; she has been at it a long time, but she knew that laughter was needed in the area. So, with that, Laugh House was birthed three years ago. Her mission is to bring laughter, fun, convenience, and great customer service to her audience.
Laugh House, which is currently located in Glen Burnie, Maryland, features local comedians as well all those from all over the country. Owner, Monique, is selective with who will take the stage. She wants to ensure the audience will have a great time. At this time, they do not host open mic nights, but she said that is coming down the line in the near future.
What stands out about Laugh House is that the owner is a black female, and the venue is also owned by a black female. Talk about Black Girl Magic! With every show she makes sure to bring the flavor that will want you to keep coming back for more. She not only brings laughter, but she brings fun to the environment. Holla at your girl if you are looking for a place to celebrate a birthday or hang out with your girls.
Advice that she gives to other black female entrepreneurs is to be consistently persistent. There will be ups and downs, days that you question why you are doing what you are doing, and you may be even ready to throw in the towel, but you have to stay the course. Your breakthrough may be right around the corner and if give up too soon you will miss your blessing. Trust that God has a plan for you before you even see it. Have faith and believe in what you are doing.
Her encouraging words that she leaves with our readers is to do what you love. This helps to make it easier to keep going when things get rough.
Laugh House has some great shows coming up, such as August 6 and 7 with Cocoa Brown. Make sure to get your tickets while they last at https://dmvlaughhouse.com.
