90s Fine and Netflix Fame: Meet Jade of All Trades, Jade Novah

What happens when you put Beyoncé, Cardi B, Erykah Badu, Tyra Banks, and Toni Braxton in the same room?

Well… anything could happen—from a Top Model competition, to singing their fast food orders in the drive-thru, to even spending Valentine’s Day together.

And if you’re sitting there wondering, “How in the world would that even happen? Beyoncé only pops out for world tours and family vacations!”—then let me tell you something…

You’re not old enough to be having this conversation with me if you don’t already know that Jade Novah is the common denominator.

Coined “Jade of All Trades,” the singer, songwriter, storyteller, and amazingly talented impersonator has brought us into the figments of her imagination, giving us pure comedy of what she imagines life might be like for some of our favorite celebs.

Not only can Jade show us her comedic side, but she also makes it known that yes, I’m funny, but I can also sing like there’s no tomorrow; we get a taste of her nostalgic, old-school R&B vocals through her skits and, of course, her own music—especially with her new single “90s Fine,” which easily transports us back to the ’90s, when music made you fall in love, had hooks and bridges, and gave us visuals that we would go on to love for generations.

The saying “God’s time is perfect timing” will forever be an affirmation to keep doing what you’re doing and have faith that God will handle the rest. Seeing Jade’s quest through the lenses of social media reveals that God truly knows what He’s doing!

The sound healer joined the cast of Tyler Perry’s new comedy series She the People, which premieres on Netflix on May 22nd—and Women for the Culture was able to get an exclusive from Jade about her character, Shamika what it’s like working alongside TV vets, and whether we’ll see her character flex those vocal abilities.

Jade said, “I feel so much gratitude to be able to work with such incredible people on set. I have been a sponge, just soaking in all of the knowledge and expertise from everyone who’s in front of and behind the camera. I’m so grateful to Terri J. Vaughn for bringing me along for this incredible ride. She has become like a mentor to me. There were so many amazing women on set; it was literally a masterclass.”

She added, “My character’s name is Shamika, and she is a feisty woman who knows EXACTLY what she wants. She is loyal, unapologetically herself, and at the end of the day she just wants respect. As far as Shamika’s music skills, we will just have to wait and see what the series brings!”
