South Sacramento was painted pink this past weekend as entrepreneur and media powerhouse Promise B Mae officially opened the doors to her newest venture, Baddies R Us, an all-pink luxury beauty bar designed to redefine what community and confidence look like.

The grand opening, held on Saturday, October 25, drew a remarkable 800 guests, transforming Mack Road into a vibrant celebration of sisterhood, entrepreneurship, and empowerment. From the pink carpet to the curated food bites and VIP gift bags, every detail reflected Promise’s commitment to creating spaces where women feel seen, celebrated, and supported.

The afternoon’s most powerful moment came during the official ribbon-cutting ceremony, when Sacramento City Councilwoman Mai Vang presented Promise with a City of Sacramento Resolution honoring her for her unwavering dedication to women’s empowerment, entrepreneurship, and community uplift. The crowd’s cheers captured the emotion of the moment; a recognition of Promise’s lasting impact on the city that raised her.

The grand opening wasn’t just a celebration; it was a statement. Media outlets including The Sacramento Observer, CBS 13 Charlotte, and FOX 40 News spotlighted the event, each emphasizing the cultural importance of Promise’s mission to “bring luxury to the neighborhood.”
Guests enjoyed beauty services, live music, and brands that echoed the event’s spirit of women supporting women. VIP gift bags featured products from Black Girl Vitamins, Serenity Lux Nails, and Ebony Wine & Spirits... all women-led businesses that helped make the day unforgettable.

“This day was about more than beauty,” Promise B Mae said. "It was about legacy, showing that women can build something beautiful, successful, and community-driven right where we are.”

Baddies R Us plans to continue that legacy of giving back through bi-monthly food drives and monthly community makeovers, providing both glamour and growth to Sacramento residents. The space will also double as a filming location for The Nyx Network, merging entrepreneurship, entertainment, and empowerment under one roof.

A Sacramento native, Promise B Mae has built a multifaceted empire rooted in passion and purpose. As the founder of The Nyx Network, The Box Detox, Buss Down Hair Goddess by Nyx, Baddies R Us, and the upcoming Nyx Auto Sales, she continues to inspire a new generation of women to dream bigger, lead boldly, and do it all... in pink.
