Comedy Meets Culture: National Lampoon Presents a New Era of Creator-Driven Entertainment
When you think of the bedrock of modern American comedy, National Lampoon is etched right into the foundation. From cinematic touchstones like Animal House and National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation to legendary audio and stage roots that launched comedic greats like John Belushi, Chevy Chase, Bill Murray, and Gilda Radner, the brand has defined counterculture humor for over half a century.
Now, that legendary heritage is entering a powerful new chapter. National Lampoon Presents (the new banner launching on December 2, 2026) is bridging iconic comedy history with modern arena scale, creator equity, and multi-platform storytelling.
Bridging Decades of Legacy with Arena-Scale Live Entertainment
The new venture is a powerhouse partnership combining National Lampoon’s legacy with the arena-touring mastery of Rip Micheals (creator and producer of the Wild 'N Out Live! tour, April Fools Comedy Jam, and Fall Back in Love Comedy & Music Jam) and the film/television capabilities of 5120 Entertainment, led by CEO Eugene Parker (whose credits include Back on the Strip starring Wesley Snipes, Tiffany Haddish, and Kevin Hart).

"National Lampoon has always stood for bold, original comedy that pushes boundaries and brings people together," said National Lampoon representative Jerry Daigle. "With this partnership, we're building on that legacy while creating new opportunities for comedians and introducing the brand to a new generation of audiences."
Eugene Parker, CEO of 5120 Entertainment, echoed that forward-looking momentum: "At 5120 Entertainment, we're focused on building projects that connect talent with audiences. Our partnership with National Lampoon gives us the opportunity to bring an iconic comedy brand to new audiences and develop experiences across live events, and ultimately television, film, and digital projects."
What’s Launching: Live Arenas, Vertical Series, and Big-Screen Hustle
The expansive rollout covers multiple entertainment mediums, kicking off with immediate fall releases and major 2027 milestones:
In the Crowd Work (Premiering November 26, 2026):
Rip Micheals' first stand-up special flips traditional comedy upside down. With a premise of "no stage—all crowd," Micheals places himself directly among the audience, turning everyday crowd interactions into the center of the performance.
The Barclays Center Showcase (December 17, 2026):
Comedy's past and future collide in Brooklyn as legendary performers tied to National Lampoon's history share the stage with the hottest acts from Micheals' sold-out arena circuits. This massive showcase precedes a full national tour launching in late spring 2027.
Star-Driven Films & Vertical Series:
Slated for December 2026, a new comedy vertical series features Na'im Lynn alongside an ensemble cast and a guest-starring appearance by Kevin Hart, complemented by Na'im Lynn's My Stand-Up Series.
Looking ahead to early 2027, the film slate features Hollywood Hustle, starring Alec Baldwin and Nick Cannon, alongside new cinematic projects from 5120 Entertainment.
A New Home—and Ongoing Revenue—for Comedians
Beyond the bright lights of arenas and movie screens, the partnership’s most culturally significant innovation may be its structural focus on creator equity and financial longevity.
As Rip Micheals noted, highlighting the core ethos behind the initiative: "Comedians need a home where they can put their material out, reach audiences, and earn from their work."
To solve this, the initiative is rolling out a dedicated comedy channel alongside a companion revenue platform. Designed specifically to give comedians ongoing residual income from their comedy albums and digital specials, the platform extends earning potential far beyond a single night's performance. Combined with digital radio, podcasts, roast sessions, and short sets, National Lampoon Presents is building an ecosystem where talent can cultivate material, scale their audiences, and secure lasting financial value.
Further announcements regarding viewing information, exact Barclays Center lineup details, tour dates, and registration for the new comedian revenue platform are slated to drop soon.
