While emotionally connection may seem rare and the dating scene is determined by swipes and algorithm alignment, some still long for genuine, real intimacy. This film f ollows Tammy (Erica Peeples) and Vincent (Brad James) as they skip convention and agree to fall in love on their own terms. Their bold choice sparks a cultural study on vulnerability, connection, and the courage to lead with heart. And while they embrace this “experiment” in real time, Trey (David Banner) and Angie (Teresa Celeste) tackle the reality of sustaining love through marital challenges, reflecting deeply layered perspectives within Black relationships that are rarely portrayed with such honesty and emotional intelligence.

As the founder of Hidden Gem Entertainment, Tamera Hill continues to build a legacy of storytelling that centers authenticity, humor, and humanity. Angela White, meanwhile, continues her reign as a producing force and champion of diverse voices, adding The Soul Mate Experiment to an already history-making lineup that includes this November’s Lifetime releases Terry McMillan Presents: Preach, Pray, Love and Friends and Lovers.

Wrapped in heart, healing, and Black joy, The Soul Mate Experiment is set for February 2026 release; just in time for Valentine’s season. Two women at the helm. A cast rooted in truth. A story that challenges everything we think we know about love. This isn’t just a romantic comedy. It’s a timely reflection on what it takes to choose love boldly, whether you’re entering it for the first time or fighting to keep it alive. Real connection still matters.
