The 3rd Annual BET Black + Iconic Soirée made its powerful Washington, D.C. debut with a night dedicated to honoring the legacy, resilience, and rising brilliance of Black LGBTQ+ leaders. This year’s theme, “Excellence Ascending,” celebrated BET's 45th anniversary and honored trailblazing Black LGBTQ+ leaders who continue to redefine culture, advocacy, and authenticity on their own terms through the media, art and activism.
Hosted by media maven Scott Evans, the evening celebrated award recipients who are shifting narratives, building legacy, and making space for others to rise.
Honorees included:
Ashlee Davis, J.D. – Executive Realness Award
Hope Giselle – Emerging Leader
Kierra Johnson – Active Advocate
Ashlee Marie Preston – Creative Visionary Award
Bob the Drag Queen – Culture Trailblazer Award
