God, I Hear You: A Sunday Night Reset for the Soul

ree

It’s Sunday night, that weird mix of peace and panic. You know, when you’re trying to relax, but your brain’s already halfway into Monday? Yeah, that part.

Every Sunday, I tell myself, “This week, I’m going to be more organized.” Then suddenly it’s 9 PM, I’m staring at my to-do list, the laundry’s still in the dryer, and I’m wondering how it’s already Monday again.

But lately, I’ve been trying something different. Instead of spiraling into the “what didn’t get done,” I pause. I sit in the quiet (well, as quiet as it gets with kids in the house) and just say, “God, talk to me.” And it’s wild because sometimes He does, not in a big dramatic way, but in those little reminders. Like when I finally sit down and feel that deep exhale. That’s Him saying, “You made it.” When something works out that I was stressing about? “I told you I had it handled.” When I finally rest instead of overthinking? “That’s the peace I’ve been trying to give you.”

It’s the small stuff that hits the hardest. So tonight, instead of beating yourself up for what didn’t get done, thank yourself for showing up. Thank God for carrying you through another week, even if it was messy, even if you cried, even if dinner was cereal two nights in a row. You did your best, and that’s enough.

So light that candle. Put your phone down. Drink your tea (or wine — no judgment). And remind yourself: you’re allowed to rest without earning it. Because God hears you even when you’re just trying to hold it together. He’s not looking for perfection, just connection.

Here’s to a softer week ahead, one where we breathe more, stress less, and actually enjoy what we prayed for.

Weekly Intention: Give yourself grace. You’re doing better than you think.
