There’s something magical that happens when Black people come together and show up in theme to celebrate ourselves and our culture, and on July 26th, at Brooklyn Bowl in Nashville, TN people showed up and showed out for the 2Live From The Ville 90s & 00s Bash. We weren’t just dressed in throwback fits, we were reliving a period that shaped a generation, and Kinesixx made sure the atmosphere was all the way right. This event drew a beautiful mix of people from all walks of life who came ready to have fun and celebrate a timeless era. This was more than just an event; this was an experience, and it was an unforgettable moment because the legendary Uncle Luke was in the house to hype the crowd up in true Uncle Luke fashion and to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Luke Records. Behind the magic of the night is a woman who is a visionary and who is undoubtedly leaving behind a legacy no one will ever forget, D’llisha Davis

Many know this powerhouse as “Two Elles". She is the driving force behind the theme shifting experience Kinesixx, live entertainment and event curation platform 2LsOnACloud, and the artist manager for groundbreaking hip-hop talent Daisha McBride, leading her to major achievements like BET’s short film documentary In Her Element for Queen Collective, and creating the anthem for the inaugural Nashville season of AU Pro Basketball. Recently inducted into the Recording Academy’s 2025 New Member Class, D’llisha is also the mastermind behind some of Nashville’s most talked-about events. She is a true trailblazer in the music and entertainment industries, and she continues to reshape Nashville’s cultural landscape and make an undeniable impact on the city's creative scene. To pull off a cultural moment of this scale takes more than talent; it takes bold leadership, vision, and an unshakable belief in what’s possible.

I had the honor of being invited as a brand ambassador for Nashville Black Events in partnership with Kinesixx, and when I say it was an incredible experience from beginning to end, I mean it. It was clear that D’llisha, her team, and her partners are deeply intentional, not only about creating something epic for the community, but also about treating Nashville’s top influencers and content creators with the utmost care and respect. This wasn’t just about dancing and drinks, it was about joy, nostalgia, and curating an immersive environment where everyone could find something to enjoy.

From the moment you walked in, you were greeted by live models dressed in 90s and 2000s fashion. Activations were thoughtfully placed throughout the space: you could play Street Fighter if you needed a break from the crowd, snap photos with your crew in front of airbrushed themed backdrops by Aura Sky Instabooth, sit for a live portrait and expressive illustration by Meg Pie, or even get a custom grill or tooth gem fitted on the spot from Nashville Tooth Gems.

As an ambassador, I got to enjoy a few special perks including reserved seating, a perfect view to enjoy Uncle Luke’s performance, and a nostalgic gift box filled with 90s and 2000s staples like Bazooka bubble gum and throwback candy. They even included Liquid I.V. to keep us hydrated after a night of fun. It was curated, thoughtful, and full of intentional details that made it more than just a party, it was an occasion like no other.

Bringing Uncle Luke to Nashville was a celebration of Southern hip-hop history, and an undeniable moment in Black music legacy. As the founder of Luke Records, Uncle Luke has been at the forefront of shaping the sound and culture of hip-hop, and having him in Nashville, TN for the 40th anniversary was a monumental moment. Kinesixx created a space that not only honored his contributions, but also solidified the event as more than just a party, it was a cultural archive in motion, where history met the present in the most vibrant and authentic way possible.

This event marks a turning point for Nashville’s event scene, especially for independent Black women producers who are redefining what’s possible. D’llisha Davis has shown that with vision, resilience, and bold leadership, cultural moments of this scale are within reach. This isn’t just a one-time achievement, it's a major shift. As the “MUVA” of Kinesixx, she’s not only changing the narrative but setting the stage for future events that will continue to leave their mark on Nashville, TN and beyond. With each event, she’s building a legacy that will resonate for years to come, and we can expect even greater things from her in the future.
