The intersection of high fashion, deep intentionality, and community advocacy met at the W Hotel in Hollywood this past Sunday. The occasion? The Fourth Annual Jayce’s Journey Autism Awareness Sneaker Ball Gala!

In a room where black-tie elegance met the dopest sneaker culture, the atmosphere was charged with something more potent than just style; it was fueled by a mission to break generational silences.
Under this year’s vital theme, "Black Fathers. Autism. Breaking the Silence," the gala moved beyond a traditional fundraiser. It became a sanctuary for vulnerability and a powerhouse for change, specifically spotlighting the often-overlooked role of Black men navigating the autism spectrum with their children.
The Visionary Behind the Movement

None of this would exist without the relentless drive of Deidre "Dee" Price, CEO and Founder of The Price Life and Jayce’s Journey Inc. What started as a personal mission rooted in her own family’s experience has blossomed into a premier cultural platform. Price’s leadership has proven that advocacy doesn’t have to look one way; it can be glamorous, it can be "for the culture," and it can be life-changing all at once.

Honoring the Champions

The evening leaned into the power of testimony. The gala honored a heavy-hitting roster of men and organizations who are using their platforms to shift the narrative around neurodiversity in the Black community. Honorees included:
Belly Gang Kush (Billboard-charting artist)
Marcus Black (TV Personality & Mentor)
Amir Johnson (LA Clippers Coach)
Stacey McAlister (5 Eleven Hoops Founder)
AD (Streamer & Radio Personality)
DIR Floortime Coalition
Christian Hale

The panel was the heartbeat of the night. These men shared honest, raw advice on fatherhood, overcoming cultural stigmas, and the emotional weight of being a "vocal champion" for children who are often diagnosed later and less frequently due to systemic inequities.

A Star-Studded Night of Purpose
The guest list reflected the magnitude of Price’s reach. The room was a "who’s who" of culture and entertainment, featuring the likes of Roddy Ricch, Chance the Rapper, Brooke Valentine, Miracle Watts, and Tyler Lepley.
While guests enjoyed signature cocktails from D'usse and Gran Coramino, a live band, and a high-energy live auction, the underlying urgency remained clear: Autism affects one-in-31 children in the U.S. For Black families, the barriers to early intervention are even higher, making events like Jayce’s Journey a literal lifeline for information and support.

The Journey Continues
Four years in, Jayce’s Journey isn’t just a gala; it’s a movement that has successfully bridged the gap between the streets, the stage, and the clinic. As Deidre Price continues to expand this platform, the message is echoing louder than ever: The silence is breaking, the fathers are speaking, and the community is finally being seen.
