This Juneteenth, Unskrypted is making history. The first-ever Unskrypted AF: The Juneteenth Takeover will stream live for 15 hours (from 9AM to midnight) in an unprecedented celebration of Black entrepreneurship, storytelling, and economic empowerment.
Billed as a “Shop-A-Thon for the culture,” this all-day streaming experience will spotlight Black-owned brands through a vibrant mix of live unboxings, in-studio interviews, remote features, musical performances, and real-time shopping.
The entire event is powered by Unskrypted, a groundbreaking shoppable streaming network that fuses commerce, content, and community all centered around Black creatives and consumers.
While many Juneteenth observances have historically leaned on festivals, panels, or in-person markets, Unskrypted AF aims to make the celebration more accessible and more impactful; bringing the power of the Black dollar to the digital stage.
“There’s no universal or accessible way to celebrate Juneteenth unless you physically go somewhere,” said Folasade Ogunmokun, Founder and CEO of Unskrypted. “And honestly, we believe Juneteenth deserves more than a moment—it deserves impact.”
That impact comes to life through cooperative economics or "Ujamaa;" Unskrypted’s commitment to building a shared ecosystem of support for Black-owned businesses.
For those unfamiliar, Ujamaa (the fourth principle of Kwanzaa) emphasizes building and maintaining businesses together and profiting from them collectively. Unskrypted affirms this cultural commitment and call to action by uplifting Black entrepreneurs by offering real-time product placement, business exposure, and direct-to-consumer engagement on a shoppable streaming network built by us, for us.
Each hour of the broadcast is intentionally themed to reflect the rhythms of Black life; from wellness rituals in the morning, to culinary flavors and style in the afternoon, to wind-down essentials at night. Whether viewers tune in to shop or simply to witness the wave of excellence on screen, they’ll walk away feeling deeply connected to the brands and people behind them.
“We’re not just another marketplace. We’re not just another streaming service,” said Ogunmokun. “We’re a shoppable storytelling platform where businesses don’t just get listed—they get celebrated.” Participating brands will be featured not only in the livestream, but also in Unskrypted’s year-round marketplace, unlocking future opportunities to be integrated into shows, series, media placements, and seasonal gift guides like Folasade’s “Summertime Fine Essentials” segment on FOX 5.
All Day. All Black. All You. All Featured.
This event reflects what Juneteenth should look like when it’s rooted in freedom, legacy, and ownership. From the screen to the shopping cart, Unskrypted is setting the standard for how we choose, circulate, and champion Black-owned brilliance. “This isn’t just content—it’s cooperative. It’s communal,” Ogunmokun adds. “We wanted to create a space where freedom feels like ownership, where we circulate the Black dollar intentionally, and where legacy isn’t just remembered — it’s built in real time.” Unskrypted’s mission has always been about more than visibility. It’s about viability and accessibility.
Juneteenth events often require physical presence. This one meets you where you are; online, making space for national participation and widespread support. It bridges the gap between celebration and circulation, showing what’s possible when we choose each other on our own terms.
This is more than content. More than commerce. This is community, culture, and cooperative power... live and Unskrypted AF.
